🏖️Travel Notification

When you travel, especially internationally, it’s important to let the eTop Technology security team know in advance. Travel notifications help protect your account, reduce false security alerts, and ensure smooth access while you’re away.

Why Travel Notifications Matter

eTop uses security tools that alerts when login locations change to detect potential threats. If your account suddenly logs in from a distant or international location without notice, it may trigger:

  • Impossible Travel Alerts: When rapid logins from distant locations seem physically impossible.

  • International Login Flags: Unusual logins from high-risk or unexpected regions are automatically suspicious.

Without notice, these alerts can result in:

  • Locked accounts

  • Delayed access to systems

  • Unnecessary security escalations

When you notify eTop:

  • Security can prepare for your travel activity.

  • Alerts can be quickly verified as legitimate.

  • You avoid disruptions to your work while traveling.

Why International Logins Are Flagged

  • Higher Risk: Many cyberattacks originate internationally.

  • Unusual Activity: Logins from unfamiliar countries break typical access patterns.

  • Regulatory Requirements: Flagging international logins is part of industry-standard security practices.

By sharing your travel plans, you help the security team distinguish between real threats and safe, expected activity.

How to Alert eTop of your Travel

To avoid losing access to your accounts due to a false alert, please send eTop a ticket and provide the following:

  • Your name

  • Dates of travel

  • Location of travel

  • Out of office message

  • If you need someone to access your mailbox, and who that person is.

  • If you'd like to automatically decline meetings within travel time

Thanks for helping us keep your accounts safe!
